Believers aren't perfect in everyday life, are they?

Some may boast of a mature, spiritual life, without fault nor sin.

"I really can't remember the last time I sinned."

Sounds great, doesn't it?

Do we believe them?

Perhaps their standard to examine themselves by 1 Corinthians 4:3-4; 11:28, 31; 2 Corinthians 13:5 is lower than yours or mine.

Paul wrote about two-thirds of the New Testament of the Bible and he recognized the spiritual PROCESS of growth.

Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Philippians 3:12

The Lord Jesus Christ said that God the Father's perfection is the standard.

"Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect." Matthew 5:48

That's the standard.

John wrote that believers are to live the way Jesus did.

Whoever claims to abide in Him must walk as Jesus walked. 1 John 2:6

Who does that every moment of every day?

That's the standard.

To live in the same way John 14:12; 1 Peter 1:14-15 that the sinless, holy, spotless John 8:46; Hebrews 7:26

Word of God, Lamb of God, and Savior of the world John 1:1-2, 14, 29; 4:41-42; Titus 2:13; 1 Peter 1:18-19; 1 John 4:14 did is the GOAL for believers set by God the Father.

For those God foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brothers. Romans 8:29

FOLLOW HIM

Peter wrote this --

For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in His footsteps: 1 Peter 2:21

How may we imitate and follow the Father and the Son, Jesus? John 21:22; Ephesians 5:1

"He [Jesus] committed no sin, and no deceit was found in His mouth."

When they heaped abuse on Him, He did not retaliate;

when He suffered, He made no threats, but entrusted Himself to Him [God the Father] Who judges justly. 1 Peter 2:22-23

And walk in love, just as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us as a fragrant sacrificial offering to God. Ephesians 5:2

Give His love and sacrifice for others as He did. Romans 12:1

Paul shares more about how to have the Lord Jesus Christ's attitude and mind. 1 Corinthians 2:16

Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus:

Who, existing in the form of God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped,

but emptied Himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in human likeness.

And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to death— even death on a cross. Philippians 2:5-8

Empty ourselves of inflated self views Romans 12:3 because we are NOT Jesus, God in the flesh. John 3:34; Colossians 1:19; 2:9; Hebrews 1:1-3

With the Holy Spirit's help, Romans 8:12-14 cleanse what defiles. 2 Corinthians 7:1; Colossians 3:5-10; 2 Timothy 2:19-21; James 1:21

Humble ourselves. James 4:10; 1 Peter 5:5-6

Be obedient, no matter the cost. Hebrews 5:8-9

HOW TO MAKE ADJUSTMENTS?

Don't try to adjust others by being a busybody [meddler]. 2 Thessalonians 3:11; 1 Peter 4:15

Let's first remove the beam from our own eye. Matthew 7:5

Proclaim what the word says with patience, doctrine, 2 Timothy 4:2 gentleness, and respect, 1 Peter 3:15 but don't use it as a sword against people.

The sword of the Spirit is His weapon against the devil. Matthew 4:1-10; Ephesians 6:11, 17

Accept that spiritual growth takes time to progress from handling the milk of the word 1 Corinthians 3:1-3 to solid food. Hebrews 5:11

How many times might we stumble?

70 times 7, which is 490, or 77 times? Matthew 18:21-22

7 times a day sinning against your brother or sister? Luke 17:3-4

Wounding the conscience of a weak brother or sister and in this way sin against the Lord Jesus Christ? 1 Corinthians 8:12

DO THESE POSITIVE ACTIONS

Turn to God the Father, Luke 15:18 confess your sins, and believe that He has forgiven and cleansed you. Luke 15:20-24; Acts 17:30-31; Hebrews 8:12; 1 Peter 3:11

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9; 2:1-2

Walk in His light 1 John 1:7 and in His Spirit Galatians 5:16 by His help. Romans 8:13

We can't live spiritually without the Lord Jesus Christ.

I [Jesus] am the vine and you are the branches.

The one who remains in Me, and I in him, will bear much fruit.

For apart from Me you can do nothing. John 15:5

With the Lord Jesus Christ, He can make us to be who He wants. Mark 1:17; John 15:7-8

Your thoughts?
