Holes in the armor
Is it wrong to look for holes in someone's defense armor? Believers are to go into all of the world to teach and preach the Lord Jesus Christ and His salvation. Mark 16:15; John 15:27; Acts 1:8; 5:42; 28:30-31 To find a hole might be important to open someone's eyes Acts 26:18 that have been blinded spiritually. 2 Corinthians 4:4 A side view of an ancient soldier in armor: helmet, shield, sword, breastplate, loin and leg protectors Is it wrong to look for dents in someone's

Disappointment?
Contentment, enjoyment, and fulfillment. These are powerful forces that can overcome disappointment if we apply them at the proper times, don't you think? Even better would be to live continually in them. Is it possible? When tribulation, trouble, pressure, persecution, stress, and other things enter our lives, they might trigger disappointment. Mark 4:16-19 How can we get contentment, enjoyment, and fulfillment while we're dealing with these? Maybe we should start with word

"I will make you into a great nation."
This is what God the Father said to Moses after the children of Israel "corrupted themselves" by idol worship. Exodus 32:6-8; 1 Corinthians 10:7 For this disobedience, the Lord wanted to destroy them and then make Moses into a great nation. The Lord also said to Moses, Moses on Mt. Sinai with the glory of the Lord shining "I have seen this people, and they are indeed a stiff-necked people. Now leave Me alone, so that My anger may burn against them and consume them. Then I wi

If He is not enough, it's not enough
Is there a "God side" of things where He does it? Is there a "people side" where we must do it? If someone needs to wash their hands, do they have to do it? Or do they pray, "My hands are dirty. Please wash them now. Thank you." Some could pray like that in certain situations where soap, water, or sanitizer aren't available. Would the Lord answer that prayer by sanitizing that prayer's hands supernaturally? It could happen and probably has. Mark 11:22-24 The point is that in

"You must think you're divine!"
The Lord Jesus Christ gave His first disciples power and authority to cast out demons and heal the sick. Matthew 10:1; Mark 16:15-18; Luke 9:1-2, 6; 10:1, 9, 17 Is this still true? Jesus said to His eleven remaining first disciples, Matthew 28:16 "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey all that I have com

Don't entertain the thoughts
Years ago I read somewhere that the human mind operates at least 3 times faster than someone speaks. It's probably one of the reasons we have a hard time paying attention when others are speaking. Sure, we can process information quickly but unfortunately, our thoughts aren't always decent. "Where did THAT come from?" someone asks silently to themselves when they know that it didn't come from holy heaven. The battle for our minds is continuous, isn't it? Person walks on a sea

Live as though the Lord appeared to you
Have you ever hoped for a personal appearance? "If Jesus Christ would appear to me, then I would believe." You aren't alone. Jesus Christ walks along a beautiful path Thomas was one of Jesus' disciples who heard His teachings, saw His healings and miracles, and was with Him for about 3 years. Matthew 5:1-2; 13:16-17; 15:30-38; Mark 3:13-19; Luke 7:21; Acts 1:21-22; 2:22; 1 John 1:1-2 Because Jesus' mother, John 19:25 other women who followed Him, Mark 15:40-41 and John, the d

Holy Lane
When driving, I'll sometimes say loudly or in a normal tone, which other drivers can't hear, "Stay in your lane." Where I live and commute, drivers are generally pretty bad and like to switch lanes quickly, frequently, and without using their turn signals. "Stay in your lane!" If they would, life in traffic would be less stressful. ISAIAH'S HIGHWAY 35 [in the prophet's chapter 35] And there will be a highway called the Way of Holiness. The unclean will not travel it — only th

"I like rainbows."
Do we know how rainbows are made? I've made a few with a garden hose and sunlight hitting the spray at just the correct angle. "Look at that, a rainbow." Sometimes a camera will capture certain lighting and there's a small rainbow in the photo. I like rainbows for better reasons when they appear in the sky , usually after it has rained. Do we know HOW heavenly rainbows are created? Science could tell us how this light spectrum with its colors is made in nature. Thank you, s

Worthy prayers
To have our prayers be worthy of the One to Whom we're praying , John 16:23 don't WE need to be worthy ? As a prisoner in the Lord, then, I [Paul] urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling you have received: with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, and with diligence to preserve the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace . Ephesians 4:1-3 If we suffer shame because of Jesus' name, Acts 5:40 is this because He counte

Miracles
The Lord Jesus Christ turned water into wine at a wedding, about 120-180 gallons worth! John 2:1-10 Jesus performed this, the first of His signs, at Cana in Galilee. He thus revealed His glory, and His disciples believed in Him . John 2:11 Jesus healed a royal official's son. John 4:46-53 This was now the second sign that Jesus performed after coming from Judea into Galilee . John 4:54 In your opinion, is it a miracle if the physical laws of nature are suspended or broken s

Not ashamed
Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for He has prepared a city for them . Hebrews 11:16 [2nd part of the verse] How can we have God the Father NOT be ashamed of us NOW? We acknowledge that we're strangers and exiles on the earth. Hebrews 11:13 We seek FIRST the kingdom of God and His righteousness Matthew 6:33 and earnestly desire a better, heavenly country . Philippians 1:21-23; Hebrews 11:14, 16 So Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers . Hebrews 2:1

I should, I could, I did
I should stop doing this and start doing that. Why? Someone I respect said that it worked for them and "I should." I could do what they said IF I had a little inspiration or a life or death reason to motive me. It seems like these two parts, "I should" and "I could" have to be dealt with positively before we can come to the doing part: "I did!" Religious and spiritual people want us to do what they say. Or do what their sacred writings require. DOING THE BIBLE? The Bibl

Adjustments
Believers aren't perfect in everyday life, are they? Some may boast of a mature, spiritual life, without fault nor sin. "I really can't remember the last time I sinned." Sounds great, doesn't it? Do we believe them? Perhaps their standard to examine themselves by 1 Corinthians 4:3-4; 11:28, 31; 2 Corinthians 13:5 is lower than yours or mine. Paul wrote about two-thirds of the New Testament of the Bible and he recognized the spiritual PROCESS of growth . Not that I have a

Wake up!!
The Lord says through a prophet , "Wake up!" Isaiah 52:1-2 I srael's watchmen are blind, they are all oblivious; they are all mute dogs, they cannot bark; they are dreamers lying around, loving to slumber . Isaiah 56:10 Another Old Testament prophet said, As for me, however, I am filled with power by the Spirit of the Lord, with justice and courage, to declare to Jacob his transgression and to Israel his sin . Inreach or outreach?
Could both be necessary? The Great Commission from the Lord Jesus Christ has both inreach and outreach . To preach the gospel to all is outreach. Mark 16:15 To teach and make disciples of all is both outreach and inreach. Matthew 28:18-20; Luke 24:46-48; John 15:27; Acts 1:8 As someone has said, "You catch them (outreach) and I'll clean them." (inreach) Paul wrote , Therefore we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, yet our inner self is being renewed d

Golden Rule
Many of us have heard or read the phrase, "How's that working for you?" It's usually stated to mock someone. They've reached a certain level in life, mentioned it, and a listener scoffs, "How's that working for you?" They were NOT impressed by that so-called achievement. DOES THE GOLDEN RULE WORK? A disappointed believer or a skeptic might question the benefit of following the Golden Rule. What's the Golden Rule? It was taught by the Lord Jesus Christ to His followers. "In

Doors
Most of us have faced doors that were either open or shut. What we chose at that time may have helped or hurt us. We may have walked through large open doors 1 Corinthians 16:8-9 that required only a little effort. At other times, shut doors created frustration that made us look elsewhere. Some continue to bang on closed doors, hoping or believing that they'll open eventually. Matthew 7:7-8 There's a constant OPEN DOOR , an open gate for each of us. So He [Jesus] said to

Common side effects of life include...
You've probably seen the advertisements for prescription drugs that promise relief from certain ailments. "Wow, that sounds great." Then, they mention common side effects that include... The list is usually long and sometimes these side effects seem worse than the disease. Life promises a lot . Good stuff. When young, the "here and now" can be exciting and the future bright. The Bible's promises are many , too. Peter , one of Jesus' first disciples, Matthew 10:1-2 calls the
