Not ashamed

Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for He has prepared a city for them. Hebrews 11:16 [2nd part of the verse]


How can we have God the Father NOT be ashamed of us NOW?


We acknowledge that we're strangers and exiles on the earth. Hebrews 11:13


We seek FIRST the kingdom of God and His righteousness Matthew 6:33 and earnestly desire a better, heavenly country. Philippians 1:21-23; Hebrews 11:14, 16


So Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers. Hebrews 2:11 [2nd part of the verse]


How can we have the Lord Jesus Christ NOT be ashamed to call us His brothers or sisters NOW? Matthew 12:48-50


Make sure that we're in God the Father's family through faith in Jesus. Ephesians 1:3-8; 2:8-10


For both the One Who sanctifies [the Father] and those who are sanctified [believers in Jesus] Romans 3:25-26 are of the same family. Hebrews 2:11


The Lord Jesus Christ said,


"If anyone is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will also be ashamed of him when He comes in His Father's glory with the holy angels." Mark 8:38


How can we NOT be ashamed of Jesus and His words NOW?


Jesus stated how --


"Therefore everyone who confesses Me [Jesus] before men, I will also confess him before My Father in heaven." Matthew 10:32


John wrote,


And now, little children, remain in Christ, so that when He appears, we may be confident and unashamed before Him at His coming.


If you know that He is righteous, you also know that everyone who practices righteousness has been born of Him. 1 John 2:28-29


LOVE, BELIEVE, OBEY, FORGIVE


These are major New Testament themes in the Bible. Matthew 6:14-15; 18:21-22; Luke 17:3-4; John 13:34-35; 14:15; 15:12; Romans 13:8-10; Galatians 5:16; Ephesians 5:3-4; Colossians 3:1-2, 5, 12-14; 1 John 3:23


They make great studies.


We could expect that if our lives are pointed in these directions after we're made new creations by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, John 3:3-7, 16-17; Romans 10:9-10; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Titus 3:4-7 we would please God the Father.


Jesus replied, "If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word.


My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him." John 14:23


We want the Father to say,


"I will be a Father to you, and you will be My sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty." 2 Corinthians 6:18


We don't want to put Jesus to open shame by our lives bearing thorns when they should produce fruit. Hebrews 6:6, 8


We also don't want to have the 5 things in Mark chapter 5 make us unfruitful. Mark 4:17-18


We need an honest and good heart to hear His word and bear fruit. Luke 8:15


We need to remain in Jesus. John 15:5


We don't want to grieve the Holy Spirit. Ephesians 4:30-31


We don't want to have the name of God blasphemed among non-believers because of our lives. Romans 2:24


We don't want to profess that we know God but in actions deny Him. Titus 1:16


We don't want to be friends with the world's system of the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life. James 4:4; 1 John 2:15-16


TO PLEASE HIM


Beloved, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God,


and we will receive from Him whatever we ask, because we keep His commandments and do what is pleasing in His sight. 1 John 3:21-22


Pure and undefiled religion before our God and Father is this:


to care for orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. James 1:27


Be believing when the Lord Jesus Christ comes. Matthew 21:22; Mark 11:24; Luke 18:8


Be ready, eagerly wait, desire, and look for the Lord's return. Matthew 24:42; Mark 13:31-37; Hebrews 9:28; 2 Peter 3:11-12


Walk by faith, not by sight. 2 Corinthians 5:7; Hebrews 11:5-6


Walk in love as Christ loved us. Ephesians 4:32; 5:1-2


Walk in holiness with a pure heart. Matthew 5:8; Hebrews 12:1-2, 14


Gather with Him. Matthew 12:30; 28:18-20; Mark 16:15; Luke 24:46-48; John 15:27; Acts 1:8


When you see the beginning of birth pang sorrows in the world, Matthew 24:6-8 look up and lift up your heads because your redemption draws near. Luke 21:28
