Holy Lane

When driving, I'll sometimes say loudly or in a normal tone, which other drivers can't hear,
"Stay in your lane."
Where I live and commute, drivers are generally pretty bad and like to switch lanes quickly, frequently, and without using their turn signals.
"Stay in your lane!"
If they would, life in traffic would be less stressful.
ISAIAH'S HIGHWAY 35 [in the prophet's chapter 35]
And there will be a highway called the Way of Holiness.
The unclean will not travel it — only those who walk in the Way —
and fools will not stray onto it. Isaiah 35:8
Let's not be fools but wise. Luke 24:25-27; Ephesians 5:15
How much better to acquire wisdom than gold!
To gain understanding is more desirable than silver. Proverbs 16:16
Let's find out how to get on Highway 35, the Way of Holiness.
The highway of the upright leads away from evil; he who guards his way protects his life. Proverbs 16:17
NARROW LANE of JESUS
Jesus said,
"Enter through the narrow gate.
For wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.
But small is the gate and narrow the way that leads to life, and only a few find it." Matthew 7:13-14
Jesus is the gate, the door of the sheep. John 10:7
"I am the gate. If anyone enters through Me, he will be saved.
He will come in and go out and find pasture." John 10:9
Jesus told His first disciples that he was going away to prepare a place for them. John 10:1-4
Thomas asked,
"We do not know where You are going, so how can we know the way?" John 14:5
Jesus answered,
"I am the way and the truth and the life.
No one comes to the Father except through Me." John 14:6
Jesus Himself is the Holy Lane: the way, the truth, and the life, the only lane/way to God the Father.
Peter asked Jesus,
"Lord, to whom would we go? You have the words of eternal life.
We believe and know that You are the Holy One of God." John 6:68-69
Peter preached,
"This Jesus is 'the stone you builders rejected, which has become the cornerstone.'
Salvation exists in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men [people] by which we must be saved." Acts 4:11-12
STAY IN HIS LANE
Do we really believe from our hearts that the Lord Jesus Christ is Who we want and need to make us His sheep? John 1:1-5, 14; 3:16-17; 10:14-15; Romans 10:8-10, 13
Do we want Him to make us people born of God the Father into new creations? John 1:12; 3:3; 2 Corinthians 5:17; 1 John 5:1
After this happens to us, let's stay connected to Him. Colossians 2:6-7
And He died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves, but for Him Who died for them and was raised again. 2 Corinthians 5:15
Jesus taught,
"Remain in Me, and I will remain in you.
Just as no branch can bear fruit by itself unless it remains in the vine, neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in Me.
I am the vine and you are the branches.
The one who remains in Me, and I in him, will bear much fruit.
For apart from Me you can do nothing." John 15:4-5
HOLY LANE LIVING
Peter foretold some future events.
But the Day of the Lord will come like a thief.
The heavens will disappear with a roar, the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and its works will be laid bare.
Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be?
You ought to conduct yourselves in holiness and godliness. 2 Peter 3:10-11
Let's NOT be led away with the error of the wicked who distort Scriptures to their own destruction so that we leave the Holy Lane. 2 Peter 3:16-17
James cautioned his readers to not wander from the truth. James 5:19
Jude stated in his letter,
I felt it necessary to write and urge you to contend earnestly for the faith entrusted once for all to the saints. [Lord's people]
For certain men have crept in among you unnoticed — ungodly ones who were designated long ago for condemnation.
They turn the grace of our God into a license for immorality, and they deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ. Jude vs.3-4
They had left the Holy Lane.
Even in John's day in the first century, there were many antichrists. 1 John 2:18
Some believers abandoned the faith once delivered to the Lord's people. 1 Timothy 4:1; Jude v.3
They left the truth of the Holy Lane.
They went out from us, but they did not belong to us.
For if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us.
But their departure made it clear that none of them belonged to us. 1 John 2:19
So, John encourages all to STAY in the Holy Lane.
As for you, let what you have heard from the beginning remain in you.
If it does, you will also remain in the Son [Jesus] and in the Father. 1 John 2:24
Anyone who runs ahead without remaining in the teaching of Christ does not have God. [leaves the Holy Lane]
Whoever remains in His teaching has both the Father and the Son. [stays in the Holy Lane] 2 John v.9
Let's keep both hands on the wheel, stay in His Holy Lane, and look to Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of our faith. Hebrews 12:2
