Do we know how rainbows are made?

I've made a few with a garden hose and sunlight hitting the spray at just the correct angle.

"Look at that, a rainbow."

Sometimes a camera will capture certain lighting and there's a small rainbow in the photo.

I like rainbows for better reasons when they appear in the sky, usually after it has rained.

Do we know HOW heavenly rainbows are created?

Science could tell us how this light spectrum with its colors is made in nature.

Thank you, science.

But when a Bible believer sees a heavenly rainbow, they might say,

"Father, thank you for my eyesight to see Your beautiful rainbow."

"Whenever I [God the Father] form clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds," Genesis 9:14

Do we know WHY heavenly rainbows are created?

The Lord's Own words can inform us.

"I will remember My covenant between Me and you [Noah] and every living creature of every kind. [the rest of the earth's inhabitants, including you and me]

Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life." Genesis 9:15

The believer could say with a thankful heart, Colossians 3:15

"The rainbow reminds me that You will never again destroy all life with water."

"And whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I [the Lord] will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of every kind that is on the earth." Genesis 9:16

Whenever WE see a rainbow and think about what it means, the LORD also sees it and remembers His eternal covenant.

So God said to Noah,

"This is the sign [a rainbow] of the covenant that I have established between Me and every creature on the earth." Genesis 9:17

A RAINBOW CAN EQUAL A FRESH START

Just as God the Father began fresh with Noah and his family, Genesis 7:13-24; 8:15-22; 9:8-11

when we see rainbow maybe we could say,

"Father, I need a fresh start now. I want to become a new creation through the Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Corinthians 5:17

I call upon Jesus to save me now." Luke 18:13; Romans 10:8-13

Those who are already believers, if we sin, don't we need fresh forgiveness to follow the Savior? 1 John 2:1-2

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9

After a believer sins, particularly if they've struggled to overcome this, Luke 17:3-4 they may feel ashamed. Matthew 26:75; Romans 6:21

But let's remember that the kindness of the Lord and godly sorrow bring us to a change of heart for salvation. Romans 2:4; 2 Corinthians 7:10

Maybe at our low point, it rains and we see a RAINBOW in the sky!

Let's have courage to pray,

"Father, because my High Priest, the Lord Jesus Christ, is at Your right hand, I come boldly to Your throne of grace to obtain mercy, and find grace to help in my time of need. Thank you." Hebrews 4:14-16; 10:12

GIVE RAINBOW NEW BEGINNINGS TO OTHERS

When believers receive a fresh start, particularly after seeing a rainbow, shouldn't they give this to others?

When we've been forgiven of so much, Matthew 18:23-27 let's offer that to those who sin against us. Luke 11:4

If we notice that sin, sins, and sinning increase in our circle of awareness, let's believe that the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, His unearned and undeserved favor, overflows from Him, through us, and to those caught in these. Romans 5:20

In other words, let's give more grace to others just as the Father has given to us. James 4:4-6

Above all, love one another deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. 1 Peter 4:8

Do we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we are saved just as others can be? Acts 15:11; Ephesians 2:4, 8-10; Titus 3:4-7

Jesus said,

"But go and learn what this means: 'I desire mercy, not sacrifice.'

For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners." Matthew 9:13

Jesus said,

"For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost." Matthew 19:10

When we see a rainbow, let's thank Him for it, receive His grace to rescue us, and give it away FREELY. Matthew 10:8; Revelation 22:17

He sees the rainbow, too, Genesis 9:16 and surely will respond with kindness because He is good and His mercy [loving devotion] endures forever. Psalm 107:1; Romans 2:4
