Are you hiding?

We tend to avoid what we don't like.
These can be people, places, beliefs, or situations.
When we practice "avoidance techniques," aren't we hiding?
What are you hiding from?
What am I hiding from?
Do we even want to search our souls to find out?
It could be a little disturbing.
Maybe for now, we can think about whether or not we want to examine ourselves in this way.
Regarding religious or spiritual truths, why are we afraid to be confronted with those that perhaps we've never heard of nor yet believed?
Some of us rejected truths in the past.
Now that we're older and have experienced more of life, should we revisit truths to reevaluate them?
Could they be correct for us now?
When we were children, we thought as children.
But now that we've grown, shouldn't we expect more of ourselves?
We don't want to hide because fear of a person, place, belief, or situation has torment. 1 John 4:18
Can't we let the perfect love of God the Father cast out this fear? 1 John 4:16-19
Paul wrote that the love of God has been shed abroad in believers' hearts by the Holy Spirit. Romans 5:5
The Bible says that God has NOT given believers in the Lord Jesus Christ John 3:16-17 the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7
So, we can face the truth and be changed by the truth as the truth is in Jesus, Ephesians 4:21-24 Who is the Way to the Father, the Truth, and the Life. John 14:6
It may take some discipline on our part to reexamine our beliefs.
It could be worth it.
Paul wrote, In a race all the runners run. But only one gets the prize. You know that, don’t you? So run in a way that will get you the prize. All who take part in the games train hard. They do it to get a crown that will not last. But we do it to get a crown that will last forever.
So I do not run like someone who doesn’t run toward the finish line. I do not fight like a boxer who hits nothing but air.
No, I train my body and bring it under control. Then after I have preached to others, I myself will not break the rules. If I did break them, I would fail to win the prize. 1 Corinthians 9:24-27
If we've believed in Jesus and He has made us His own, Philippians 3:12 He has become our wisdom, righteousness, sanctification, and redemption.
Because of what God has done, you belong to Christ Jesus. He has become God's wisdom for us. He makes us right with God. He makes us holy and sets us free. 1 Corinthians 1:30
He can help us to not hide anymore.
Why?
Because the righteous are as bold as lions. Proverbs 28:1
