Christmas (substitute)

On some calendars on the day following December 25th, that day is marked as "Christmas (substitute)."
Is there a substitute for Christmas?
For many, Christmas is a special day for religious, spiritual, cultural, or traditional reasons.
Even those who don't believe in Jesus as Savior of the world nor theirs personally have been heard to say, "Christmas celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ."
If Christmas is a holiday for workers, it may be appreciated for that and the day off to enjoy with family and friends.
And, of course, there's usually giving and receiving gifts of material or monetary value as is practiced by many.
How can we put spiritual value into our celebrations of Christmas?
Think of Easter, too.
It can be a time to go to church in new clothing or follow other traditions such as Easter egg making and hunting, and eating candy.
Do we really know, from young to old, the meaning of Easter?
Even if we can recite the words, "Easter celebrates the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ," how can this affect us personally?
Have the natural substitutes for Christmas and Easter become such a part of our cultures, that they've lost much of their spiritual meaning?
Could we learn more about the spiritual truths that relate to Christmas and Easter?
If so, maybe their realities found in God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ through the work of the Holy Spirit in us could make every day as special as Christmas and Easter.
One person values one day over another, another values every day the same. Each person must be fully convinced in their own mind. Romans 14:5
