What would a divine attack on society look like?
This attack might be on the people of an area or even a household. Acts 16:31
An attack from heaven might have the following characteristics --
His Spirit poured out on ALL people:
And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out My spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: and also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out My spirit. Joel 2:28-29; Acts 2:16-18
His Spirit sent into ALL THE EARTH:
And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth. Revelation 5:6
Signs and wonders take place, many become believers, and ALL BEING HEALED:
At the hands of the apostles many signs and wonders were taking place among the people; and they were all together in Solomon’s portico. But none of the rest dared to associate with them; however, the people held them in high esteem. And increasingly believers in the Lord, large numbers of men and women, were being added to their number, to such an extent that they even carried the sick out into the streets and laid them on cots and pallets, so that when Peter came by at least his shadow might fall on any of them. The people from the cities in the vicinity of Jerusalem were coming together as well, bringing people who were sick or tormented with unclean spirits, and they were all being healed. Acts 5:12-16
ALL filled with the Holy Spirit and speak the word of God with boldness:
Lord, look at their threats, and grant it to Your bond-servants to speak Your word with all confidence, while You extend Your hand to heal, and signs and wonders take place through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus. And when they had prayed, the place where they had gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak the word of God with boldness. Acts 4:29-31
Reverence gripping ALL and they glorify God for His visitation:
Fear gripped them all, and they began glorifying God, saying, “A great prophet has appeared among us!” and, “God has visited His people!” Luke 7:16
This time of visitation WOULD be recognized by most, not as happened in Jerusalem when Jesus wept over the city. Luke 19:41-44
Other evidence of His attack might be --
Times of refreshing will come from the presence of the Lord. Acts 3:19
Great power demonstrates the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Chirst and great grace is upon ALL. Acts 4:33
All grace abounds toward you. 2 Corinthians 9:8
We may think that a divine attack on a town, city, area, state, province, region, country, or a specific ethnic or religious group involves large numbers of people.
It can.
But doesn't a divine attack actually happen on an individual basis for specific purposes?
For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, Who wants all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and mankind, the Man Christ Jesus, Who gave Himself as a ransom for all, the testimony given at the proper time. 1 Timothy 2:3-6
The Lord is not slow to keep His promise. He is not slow in the way some people understand it. Instead, He is patient with you. He doesn’t want anyone to be destroyed. Instead, He wants all people to turn away from their sins. 2 Peter 3:9
No one can come to Me [Jesus] unless the Father Who sent Me draws them, and I will raise them up at the last day. John 6:44
Let anyone who is thirsty come to Me [Jesus] and drink. John 7:37
Whosoever will call upon the name of the Lord will be saved. Romans 10:13
The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let the one who hears say, “Come!” Let the one who is thirsty come; and let the one who wishes take the free gift of the water of life. Revelation 22:17
Are you and I included in these invitations for a divine visitation, a divine attack?
As Peter said, I most certainly understand now that God is not One to show partiality. Acts 10:34; James 3:17
So, yes, we are!
Your thoughts?
