Do you have roots?

Spiritual people need roots within themselves.

If we lack roots from good seeds, we may not make it when tough times come.

And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness; and have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution arises for the word's sake, immediately they are offended. Mark 4:16-17

How do we have roots?

We have to first plant seeds within us so that these seeds can sprout and grow roots.

What is the seed?

The seed is the word of God. Luke 8:11

Plant seed inside of you by speaking and singing the word to yourself. Ephesians 5:19

Let others speak and sing the word of Christ to you so that it lives in you richly. Colossians 3:16

Seeds need water don't they?

How to water the seeds of love, faith, hope, patience, kindness, and other good things in you?

The word of the Lord is also water for the seeds to grow.

I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. 1 Corinthians 3:6

That He [Jesus] might sanctify and cleanse it [Church of believers] with the washing of water by the word. Ephesians 5:26

Let's accept the planted seed/word with humility James 1:21 so that we can produce fruit that will last. John 15:16

But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience. Luke 8:15
