When we adopted our first cat from an animal shelter, the person at the front desk said,

"Enjoy your cat."

We did.

Can believers in the Lord Jesus Christ enjoy Him?

They are to follow Him. Matthew 4:18-22; John 12:26; 21:19

They are to trust His words. Matthew 14:25-29; 17:24-27; Mark 14:12-16; John 13:18-19

They are to have faith in Him. John 3:16; 9:35-38; 14:1

They are to obey Him. John 14:15; Hebrews 5:8-10

They are to know Him. Philippians 3:10

They are to worship Him. Matthew 2:11; 14:33; 28:9, 17; Luke 24:50-52

They are to praise Him. Luke 19:37-40; Revelation 5:7-14

They are to proclaim Him. Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 5:42

Gospel ministers can thank Him for His gifts that they can enjoy and use to glorify Jesus. John 16:14; 1 Corinthians 12:28; Eph. 4:7-8, 11-12; 1 Timothy 1:12

All believers can experience and enjoy His gifts as members of His body. Romans 12:4-8; 1 Corinthians 12:4

All believers may delight in the operation of the manifestation of His Spirit as they're baptized into His Spirit. 1 Corinthians 12:7-11, 13

In all of these actions and giftings where the Lord Jesus Christ is the inspiration and focus, Colossians 1:18 can we find pleasure in them and in Him as the source? Hebrews 12:2

JESUS WORKS WITH US

Do you think that if we talked (or wrote) as spokespersons of God, that would be an honor and awesomely enjoyable experience?

If anyone speaks, he should speak as one conveying the words of God. 1 Peter 4:11

What if we ministered, served, helped, and lifted others with the ability that He gave, would there be holy happiness as a result?

If anyone serves, he should serve with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to Whom be the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen. 1 Peter 4:11

Think about this --

Jesus, the Savior of the world, John 3:16-17; 4:39-42; Acts 4:11-12; 2 Corinthians 5:18-19; 1 John 4:14

said that He would never leave nor forsake believers in Him. Matthew 28:19-20; John 6:37; Romans 8:38-39; Hebrews 13:5-6

So, if we're witnesses to Jesus, John 15:27; Acts 1:8; 4:19-20; 5:42; 8:4-5; 26:22-23

He works with us. Acts 14:3; 19:11-12

And they went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked through them, confirming His word by the signs that accompanied it. Mark 16:20

Let's hear Him say,

"Don't fear. Believe only. Let's do this TOGETHER."

REJOICE

Jesus told His first followers,

Until now you have not asked for anything in My name.

Ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be complete. John 16:24

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Philippians 4:4

What are some other ways to say "rejoice?"

We can "delight in," "take pleasure in," "be glad," "be happy," and "be joyful because of Jesus."

Enjoy that your name is written in heaven. Luke 10:20; Philippians 4:3; 1 Peter 1:4; Revelation 21:27

Rejoice that Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever Hebrews 13:8 for YOU.

What He did for people when He lived on the earth, John 1:14 He can and wants to do today.

"Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean," a man with a skin disease said to Jesus. Matthew 8:2

Jesus reached out His hand and touched the man.

"I am willing," He said.

"Be clean!" And immediately his leprosy was cleansed. Matthew 8:3

Take pleasure in the truth that your sins are forgiven because He bore them in His body for YOU. 1 Peter 2:24

"Son, your sins are forgiven," Jesus said to a paralyzed person. Mark 2:5

Jesus then healed him, too. Mark 2:9-12

"Your sins are forgiven," Jesus said to a woman who had many sins. Luke 7:37-39, 47-48

And Jesus told the woman, "Your faith has saved you; go in peace." Luke 7:50

Be glad that Jesus is touched with the feeling of our infirmities, our weaknesses. Hebrews 4:15

He knows how to help us if we're tempted. Hebrews 2:18

Enjoy the truth that He is building a place for you in heaven. John 14:1-3

Rejoice that Jesus wants you to be with Him and see His glory. John 17:24

Be happy in the fact that if you believe in Jesus you will never really die. John 3:16; 11:25-26; Romans 6:23; 1 John 5:11

He has the keys of death and hell. Revelation 1:17-18

AGAIN, I SAY, REJOICE

What are more reasons to rejoice?

He gave you a commission: Be His witness where you are, where you go, and everywhere. Mark 16:15, 20; Acts 1:8; 2 Corinthians 5:18-20

He has given His angels charge over you to keep you in all of your ways Psalms 91:1, 9-12; Matthew 18:10

that don't tempt the Lord your God. Matthew 4:5-7

Your life is hidden with Christ in God the Father. Colossians 3:3

You have fellowship through His salvation relationship. John 14:23; 2 Corinthians 13:11-14; 1 John 1:3

You've been given a new birth John 3:3-6 into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ. 1 Peter 1:3

Though you have not seen Him, you love Him; and though you do not see Him now, you believe in Him and rejoice with an inexpressible and glorious joy. 1 Peter 1:8

Your thoughts?
