Believers want to see the goodness of the Lord in their lives. Psalm 27:13; 34:8

YES?

They believe He has the power to give mercy and let them find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:16

YES?

But sometimes they have unbelief Mark 9:24 or doubt Matthew 14:31 that He wants to give these to them personally.

LEPER

When Jesus came down from the mountain, large crowds followed Him.

Suddenly a leper [leprosy is a skin disease] came and knelt before Him, saying,

"Lord, if You will, You can make me clean."

Jesus reached out His hand and touched the man.

"I will," He said.

"Be clean!"

And immediately his leprosy was cleansed. Matthew 8:1-3

The leper knew Jesus had the power to heal. Luke 5:17

But he wasn't sure if that power would be used to heal him. Luke 6:19; Acts 10:38

He found out that Jesus wanted to.

For God does not show favoritism. Romans 2:11; Colossians 3:25; James 3:17; 1 Peter 1:17

That is, He is NOT biased to show partiality to one over another.

So, He must also be willing to heal us.

"If You can?" echoed Jesus. "All things are possible to him who believes!" Mark 9:23

SOLDIER

When Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion [Roman military commander] came and pleaded with Him,

"Lord, my servant lies at home, paralyzed and in terrible agony."

"I will go and heal him," Jesus replied. Matthew 8:5-7

No hesitation. No unwillingness. No doubt if this was the Father's will.

Then Jesus said to the centurion,

"Go! As you have believed, so will it be done for you."

And his servant was healed at that very hour. Matthew 8:13

ANYONE

Most of us have felt the sting of rejection; of not being included.

We won't get this when we come to the Savior.

Jesus said, "Everyone the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will never drive away." John 6:37

BURDENED

Come to Me [Jesus], all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28

He is willing and able to provide this.

How Jesus does it might be as individual as we are.

For Mary, sister of Martha. Luke 10:38-42

For His mother. John 19:25-27

For Mary Magdalene. John 20:1, 11-16

For Thomas. John 20:27-28

For Peter. John 21:18-19

For Paul. Acts 18:9-10; 2 Corinthians 12:9

In His rest, there would be peace, too.

"Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you.

I do not give to you as the world gives.

Do not let your hearts be troubled; do not be afraid." John 14:27

FATHER SAYS, "I WILL"

The New Testament that was promised centuries before Jeremiah 31:31 by God the Father states,

"I will put My laws in their minds and inscribe them on their hearts.

And I will be their God, and they will be My people." Hebrews 8:10

"For I will forgive their iniquities and will remember their sins no more." Hebrews 8:12

I WILL THANK YOU

Maybe our appropriate response to the Father and the Son, Who said, "I will" can be --

I will give thanks to the Lord with all my heart; I will recount all Your wonders.

I will be glad and rejoice in You; I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High. Psalm 9:1-2

Your thoughts?
