Remove the harshness and replace with softness

Are we rough with others?

A poor person utters pleadings, but a rich person answers defiantly. Proverbs 18:23

One of the qualifications for being an elder in a church is to NOT be a striker [bully, combative, violent, likes to fight]. 1 Timothy 3:3

A famous evangelist told a room full of preachers,

"Don't be a mean preacher. Don't clench your fists; open your hands to invite."

Good advice for all?

Should we speak the Lord's word with boldness?

After this prayer, the meeting place shook, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit. Then they preached the word of God with boldness. Acts 4:31

And many of the brethren in the Lord, growing confident by my [Paul] imprisonment, are much more bold to speak the word without fear. Philippians 1:14

And for me [Paul], that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak. Ephesians 6:19-20

Can we speak boldly without brashness, that is, without harsh verbal tones and angry facial expressions?

When we're tired, frustrated, hungry, thirsty, or under stress, these are times when harshness can leak or burst out.

Or am I the only one who has given this and received it from others?

Peace I leave with you, My [Jesus] peace I give to you: not as the world gives, give I to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 14:27

To replace harshness with softness, maybe our first step is to let His peace rule in our hearts. Colossians 3:15

Next, we can cultivate our attitude to be a servant, like Jesus. Philippians 2:5

For who is greater, the one who reclines at the table or the one who serves? Is it not the one who reclines at the table? But I am among you as the one Who serves. Luke 22:27

Another tip could be to consider others as more important.

Instead of being motivated by selfish ambition or vanity, each of you should, in humility, be moved to treat one another as more important than yourself. Philippians 2:3

If we consider them to be in this position, there wouldn't be a need to be harsh.

We can let them lead the way and be in charge when we view them in this spiritual way.

Final suggestions:

Let our speech always be with grace [the undeserved and unearned favor from God the Father], Ephesians 4:29 seasoned with the salt of His word Colossians 4:6 and care for people because of His love for them. John 3:16; Titus 3:4

We've been given grace and faith and salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ. Ephesians 2:8

We can give these to others with softness and gentleness.

Your thoughts?
