The Pretenders

Do we hide our true selves from others?
Do we hesitate to reveal who we really are and what we believe because we think most aren't interested or won't want to be near us anymore?
Do we fake smiles?
Do we NOT speak up in someone's defense when something is said that puts them down without cause?
Should spiritual people pretend to NOT have spirituality when we have it?
The wicked flee when no man pursues:
But the righteous are bold as a lion. Proverbs 28:1
According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death. Philippians 1:20
Shouldn't we be bold and speak the truth in love? Ephesians 4:15
On the other hand, maybe some of us think that we're spiritual but we're actually not.
We either don't know that we're on the outside and not inside a spiritual kingdom.
Or we DO know that we're not a genuinely spiritual person but we're pretending to be one for unspiritual reasons.
How terrible for you, teachers of the law and Pharisees! You are hypocrites! You are like tombs that are painted white. Outside, those tombs look fine, but inside, they are full of the bones of dead people and all kinds of unclean things. It is the same with you. People look at you and think you are good, but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and evil. Matthew 23:27-28
Do we want to be authentic?
How?
Consider these words --
The Word was in the world, and the world was made by Him [Jesus], but the world did not know Him. He came to the world that was His own, but His own people did not accept Him. But to all who did accept Him and believe in Him He gave the right to become children of God. They did not become His children in any human way—by any human parents or human desire. They were born of God. John 1:10-13
Jesus answered, “I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot be in God’s kingdom.” John 3:3
Jesus answered, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. The only way to the Father is through Me. John 14:6
