There's a rest for the people of God

There's a place in the Spirit where you don't envy others nor strive to get ahead of them. Galatians 5:25-26; Philippians 2:3

Instead, you're happy when others are blessed. 2 Corinthians 13:9

You're happy when you can take the lowest place and be last of all and servant of all. Mark 9:35; Luke 14:10

Jesus said, If any person follows Me, let that one serve Me. And where I am, there will My servant be also. If any person will serve Me, that one will be honored by My Father. John 12:26

Your attitude can be, "What can I do to help others become better? How can I serve them?" Philippians 2:4-7

Jesus said that He came not to be ministered to, but to minister, and to give His life as a ransom [payment] for many. Mark 10:45

Paul wrote to Timothy that Jesus gave Himself a ransom for all. 1 Timothy 2:5-6

So, how do we get to that place of rest?

It would seem to be a place of faith where we trust in what God the Father has done in His great plan of salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 3:21-26; 5:1-2; Titus 3:4-7

For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all people, instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously, and in a godly manner in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus, Who gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, eager for good deeds. Titus 2:11-14

In this place of rest, we are sure that it is by grace we're saved through faith. Ephesians 2:8

Paul wrote, Where is boasting then? It's excluded. By what law? Of works? No, but by the law of faith. Romans 3:27

In other words, we can rest, because we have faith that the Lord is our salvation, not what we do, 1 Corinthians 1:30-31; even though we desire to do what the Father has purposed for us to do as His children. Ephesians 2:8-10; 5:1

Neither you nor I placed ourselves in heavenly places with the Lord Jesus Christ, did we?

No. It was God the Father who did that when we believed in Jesus. Galatians 2:16; Ephesians 1:3-6

Therefore, since we're already high with Jesus in heavenly places, we don't have to worry that others will get ahead of us and we'll be left behind.

He knows where you and I are, doesn't He? Hebrews 4:13

We can't get any higher than with Him at the Father's right hand. Mark 16:19; Romans 8:34; Colossians 3:1

In due time, we'll get His good harvest if we don't faint. Galatians 6:9

Jesus said, "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you, and learn of Me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and you shall find rest to your souls. For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light." Matthew 11:28-30

Suggestion:

Let's seek to enter into this place of rest as God did from His work.

There remains therefore a rest to the people of God. For the person who has entered into His rest, that one also has ceased from their own works, as God did from His. Hebrews 4:9-10
