What I [Jesus] say to you [His first disciples], I say to all: Watch. Mark 13:37

Instead of the word, Watch, other Bible translations say, Stay alert, Be ready.

Be ready for what?

Always be ready. Otherwise He [Jesus] might come back suddenly and find you sleeping. Mark 13:36

Or we might think, my Lord delays His coming and so we beat our fellow servants and eat and drink, and get drunk. Luke 12:45

What else can we be ready for?

But respect Christ as the holy Lord in your hearts. Always be ready to answer everyone who asks you to explain about the hope you have. 1 Peter 3:15

Look up because your redemption draws near. Luke 21:28; Romans 13:11

Look around because the harvest is ready. John 4:35
